The centre’s mission

To retrain and develop the skills of economics professionals and teaching staff through research-based, innovative and practice-oriented approaches informed by leading contemporary practice.

Our strategic objective

To consolidate knowledge and develop the abilities of economics professionals and teachers in higher and vocational education; generate new knowledge; provide motivation and guidance for improving and effectively organising professional practice; replace outdated teaching approaches with international practice; and advance innovative models.

Our strategic priorities

  • Comprehensively updating retraining and professional development curricula by introducing leading international practice and effective educational and innovative technologies, while improving teaching resources to meet the needs of each subject area;
  • Engaging leading academics, university teachers who have studied or completed placements and professional development abroad, experienced specialists and practitioners to teach retraining and professional development courses;
  • Developing model curricula for professional development and professional and pedagogical retraining in response to sector needs, and delivering contracted retraining courses in face-to-face, distance or blended formats to meet commissioning organisations’ requirements;
  • Making the provision of up-to-date knowledge needed in everyday professional practice a regular part of professional development and retraining;
  • Organising short professional development courses on a contractual basis in response to commissioning organisations’ needs;
  • Creating the centre’s “MALAKA TSUYE.UZ” website to present its activities, together with a dedicated platform for the learning materials participants need;
  • Updating digital learning resources for distance professional development courses for higher education teaching staff and making them available through the distance learning section of the Main Scientific and Methodological Centre’s portal and the centre’s own platform;
  • Organising workshops involving experienced sector specialists, successful entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan, economic analysts and international experts;
  • Establishing and expanding partnerships with leading international research and education institutions in relevant fields to retrain and develop higher education leaders and teaching staff, conclude cooperation agreements and organise online lectures;
  • Expanding the information and resource centre’s collection in response to participants’ needs for educational, popular science, cultural and literary works and other resources.

What we do

  1. Retraining and professional development for higher education teaching staff.
  2. Retraining and professional development for vocational education teaching staff.
  3. Sharing experience with higher education institutions in developed and developing countries.
  4. Providing pedagogical and professional retraining on a contractual basis to meet rising teaching quality expectations and labour market needs.
  5. Providing contracted short professional development courses and consultancy for professionals in economics, business and management, and teaching staff of non-state higher education institutions.
